World Darts Championship

The inaugural staging of the PDC World Darts Championship took place in 1994, a year in which Dennis Priestley was crowned champion after defeating the great Phil Taylor 6-1 in the final.

That loss failed to deter Taylor's bid for glory however, as 'The Power' surged to eight consecutive successes on the back of his hammering in '94.

No player in history has captured more world titles than Taylor's 16.

UK Open

Phil Taylor was the winner of the inaugural UK Open, defeating Shayne Burgess 18-8 in the final in 2003.

The Power remains the most successful player in the competition with five titles, although Michael van Gerwen will be eyeing up the chance of overtaking him, having won three honours.

Premier League Darts

First played in 2005, the Premier League has grown into one of darts' biggest events, now considered to be part of the sport's Triple Crown, alongside the World Championship and World Matchplay.

Michael van Gerwen surpassed Phil Taylor's record of six titles in 2023 when he claimed his seventh Premier League crown with an 11-5 victory over Gerwyn Price in the final.

World Matchplay

Larry Butler was the winner of the inaugural World Matchplay campaign in 1994, defeating Dennis Priestley 16-12 in the final.

Phil Taylor is the most successful player in the competition, winning his first title in 1995 and claiming his last honour in 2017, with 'The Power' imperious at the Winter Gardens having won the World Matchplay a remarkable 16 times.

World Series of Darts Finals

First staged in 2015, the World Series of Darts Finals has been dominated by Michael van Gerwen, who has been crowned champion a record six times.

Mighty Mike claimed his sixth in 2025 with an 11-7 victory over Luke Littler in Amsterdam.

World Grand Prix

The first 14 editions of the competition were won by a British player, with Phil Taylor dominating in the early years on his path to a record 11 titles.

There have been 12 different winners of the World Grand Prix, including Luke Littler in 202

Grand Slam of Darts

Just eight players boast winning pedigree in the prestigious Grand Slam of Darts.

The immortal Phil 'The Power' Taylor captured the title on six occasions, all between 2007 and 2014, whilst the only other players to have won the event multiple times are Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price and Luke Littler.

Winmau World Masters

An event initially organised by the BDO, the PDC announced a revamped World Masters from 2025 which expanded the event to 32 players and the rebranded event was won by Stephen Bunting.

Michael van Gerwen boasts the most PDC Masters titles with five.

European Championship

Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen are perched at the top of the all-time honours list for the European Championship with the pair winning four titles each.

Rob Cross and Peter Wright are also multiple winners of the event, which has served up some unexpected victors in recent years, including Ross Smith and Ritchie Edhouse.

Players Championship Finals

Michael van Gerwen is the most prolific winner of the Players Championship Finals, capturing the coveted crown a record seven times.

Phil Taylor is the only other player to hold three or more titles, claiming the £50,000 top prize on its inaugural staging back in 2009, before going on to reign supreme in both 2011 and 2012 - either side of Kevin Painter's solitary success.

World Cup of Darts

First introduced to the PDC calendar in 2010, England are the record five-time winners of the World Cup of Darts, reigning triumphant in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2024.

Four of these five successes were recorded by the dazzling duo of Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis, before Luke Humphries and Michael Smith added to their country's honours in 2024.
