The inaugural staging of the World Series of Darts finals took place in 2015, a year in which Michael van Gerwen was crowned champion after defeating Peter Wright 11-10 in the final.
MVG would go on to win the first three stagings including a repeat of the 2015 final a year later, defeating Peter Wright 11-9 in 2016 and a comfortable 11-6 win over Gary Anderson in 2017.
James Wade took the crown in 2018, defeating Michael Smith 11-10 in the final, before Van Gerwen reclaimed the title in 2019, blitzing Danny Noppert in the final 11-2.
Gerwyn Price won the first of his two titles in 2020, dispatching Rob Cross 11-9 before winning again in 2022 beating Dirk van Duijvenbode 11-10 in the final.
Price's wins were either side of a victory for Jonny Clayton in 2021 who comfortably beat Dimitri Van den Bergh in the final.
In 2023, Michael Van Gerwen continued to display his dominance in this tournament, winning his fifth title with ease against Nathan Aspinall 11-4.
Luke Littler then became the second Englishman to win the title when he defeated two-time losing finalist Michael Smith 11-4 in the 2024 competition.
