Folarin Balogun and the USMNT have experienced a wonderful start to the 2026 World Cup.
The United States have cruised to two early victories in the World Cup group stage, and have already clinched a berth to the knockout stage of the tournament.
The USMNT dominated their opening match against Paraguay, winning 4-1, and controlled the game against Australia in their second match for a 2-0 victory. Mauricio Pochettino's side will now face a talented yet winless Türkiye team in the final match of Group D.
Balogun, the AS Monaco forward on USA, has played a massive part in contributing to those two wins.
He scored a brace in the first half against Paraguay and forced an own-goal to open up the scoring early vs. Australia. His speed and accurate striking ability has been put on full display for one of the most talented U.S. teams in World Cup history.
While the match doesn't matter for both sides (Türkiye has been eliminated), the U.S. will get a big boost to their lineup with Christian Pulisic seemingly healthy enough to play tonight after he was pulled at halftime against Paraguay and missed the entire match vs. Australia.
Still, Türkiye will be hungry to get at least a point from the 2026 World Cup after losing to both Australia and Paraguay.
