Founded in 1903, Portsmouth Football Club have had historical success, winning the league title twice in the 1940s and 1950s and the FA Cup twice, most recently in 2008.
Playing their home fixtures at Fratton Park, one of the oldest and most atmospheric grounds in English football, the club have navigated financial difficulties and periods in lower divisions in recent times, with their last appearance in the Premier League coming in the 2009/10 season.
Renowned for having cult heroes or 'Barclaysmen' at the football club, Portsmouth have seen some quality talent ply their trade at Fratton park, including Jimmy Dickinson, Peter Osgood, Sol Campbell, Teddy Sheringham, David James and Paul Merson.
