Sheffield United defender Rhys Norrington-Davies could be set to leave the club as Portsmouth step up their interest.
The Star have reported that Pompey are monitoring the situation as United consider allowing the left-back to move on this month.
It is claimed that the Blades could look to secure a replacement prior to sanctioning a move, but they are likely to be limited to the loan market or free transfers.
Norrington-Davies has had a torrid time with injuries at Bramall Lane and he is currently behind Harrison Burrows and Sam McCallum in the pecking order at left-back.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Portsmouth could secure a loan move for the duration of the campaign.
Whilst Norrington-Davies has spent plenty of time on the treatment table during his time in Yorkshire, last season provided some respite at Queens Park Rangers.
The Welsh international featured 38 times as he enjoyed his best campaign in recent years.
At the age of 27, he is entering the prime years of his career and a move to Portsmouth could suit all parties.
Portsmouth were 3-1 winners at Lincoln City on Saturday as they bounced back from their opening day defeat to QPR.
