Premier League and Championship clubs interested in Senegal international Bamba Dieng

Senegal forward and free agent Bamba Dieng is attracting interest from a multitude of Premier League and Championship clubs following his return from the 2026 World Cup.

Most recently plying his trade for FC Lorient of Ligue 1, Dieng scored 16 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions last season before the club and player failed to reach an agreement on a new contract.

He was selected in Pape Thiaw's squad for the World Cup though could only muster seven minutes across the competition, in the Lions of Teranga's 3-1 loss to France in their opening game.

Upon his return, it was expected that the Pikine-born man would sign for newly promoted Turkish Super Lig side Amedspor, but he has pulled out for reasons unknown, leading to a plethora of clubs being put on high alert across England's top two divisions.

Dieng will certainly not be short of options should he elect to move to England, with six clubs being linked with a move for the 26-year-old, the most recent of those being Hull City and Middlesbrough -- according to Foot Mercato.

Hull represent the most attractive prospect at the moment due to their Premier League status, though the Championship clubs also vying for his signature will hope that their offer a more prominent squad role may tempt the former Marseille man into the second tier.

There is of course the chance that the 2021 AFCON champion opts to go abroad, there are plenty of offers from overseas too, ranging from the Saudi Pro League to La Liga.

According to reports though, despite clubs in continental competitions next season showing interest in Europe, Dieng favours a move to England.
