Portsmouth are reportedly closing in on the signing of Dundalk forward Eoin Kenny.
Transfer correspondent Pete O'Rourke took to X to report that Pompey are "set to win the race" to sign the Norther Ireland U21, with talks at an "advanced stage".
The arrival of Kenny would mark the club's second permanent addition of the summer transfer window, having announced the signing of former Stockport County midfielder Odin Bailey on a free transfer just days ago.
Kenny -- who signed his first professional contract with Dundalk in 2023 -- got his first real taste for senior football with Wexford, where he enjoyed a six-month loan spell before being recalled in January of 2024.
While the 2024 term marked his first full season with Dundalk, it was in 2025 where he made a name for himself following the club's relegation to the League of Ireland First Division -- the second-flight in Irish football.
Plying his trade primarily through the middle -- but occasionally off the right -- Kenny found the net on 10 occasions and recorded eight assists as Dundalk secured a return to the top-flight, finishing first with 79 points.
A jump in level hasn't particularly hindered the forward's performances either, notching 10 goal involvements so far this term and seemingly alerting the attention of numerous EFL sides.
Lincoln City and Blackpool were amongst the clubs linked to the 20-year-old in the January window, but it's Portsmouth who look set to add the Northern Irishman to their attacking fold.
Kenny -- who has represented Northern Ireland at U18, U19 and U21 level -- could prove a shrewd pickup for Portsmouth as they look to bolster their attack, with Josh Murphy and Adrian Segecic amongst those linked with moves away from the club.
