Portsmouth and Lincoln City are in the hunt for reinforcements this summer, as both sides aim to avoid Championship relegation next season.
Pompey survived relatively comfortably in the Championship last campaign, finishing eight points above the drop zone. The south coast club will now be looking to build ahead of what will be their third consecutive season in the second tier.
Newly promoted Lincoln City meanwhile are back in the Championship for the first time in 65 years after clinching the League One title last season, and the Imps will also be seeking to improve their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.
One player who is rumoured to be of interest for both sides is Stockport County forward Jack Diamond, according to Football Insider's Pete O'Rourke.
Diamond has emerged as one of the most effective wide men in League One in the last couple of seasons, with the former Sunderland man scoring six times in 45 appearances last term.
The 26-year-old predominantly plays off the left wing but is capable of operating on either flank, versatility that will likely appeal to Championship suitors.
Stockport may be resigned to losing one of their key assets this summer, as Diamond has just one year remaining on his contract and will be able to leave on a free next year.
The Hatters were believed to be demanding a fee in excess of £1m in January, however the asking price will likely be lower as Diamond enters the final 12 months of his deal at Edgeley Park.
A move to either Portsmouth or Lincoln will see the 26-year-old test himself at a new level; Diamond made one solitary Championship appearance for boyhood club Sunderland in 2022/23, working his way up through the levels of the EFL with a series of loans, before his permanent switch to Stockport in 2024.
