Bolton Wanderers forward John McAtee is reportedly the subject of interest from a number of clubs as the transfer window enters its final fortnight.
The Daily Mail have reported that Cardiff and Charlton are amongst the clubs leading the race to sign McAtee, with Championship newcomers Lincoln City and League One side Sheffield Wednesday also mooted as potential destinations.
McAtee started the season in fine fettle at the weekend as Bolton marked their return to the Championship with a 2-1 victory over Preston North End.
The 27-year-old provided two assists as goals from Sam Dalby and Thierry Gale earned Steven Schumacher's side an opening day win.
McAtee joined Bolton from Luton Town in August 2024 and he has been a key part of Bolton's team in the last two years.
He played a key role in helping the club win promotion from League One last season and it is believed enquiries have been made regarding a potential deal.
His strong performance against Preston is likely to have intensified the interest, with Bolton facing a fight to keep hold of a player who provides great versatility in attacking areas.
