Hull City have reportedly joined the race to sign Morocco international Azzedine Ounahi from Girona this summer.
The Tigers have embarked on an ambitious transfer strategy since securing their return to the top flight and have already made 11 senior signings this summer.
Despite already breaking their transfer record on three occasions over the last month Hull remain in the hunt for additional reinforcements ahead of their Premier League opener against Manchester United.
According to a report from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Hull face competition from the likes of Ipswich Town and Al-Ittihad as they look to sign Ounahi.
Ounahi's stock is at an all-time high following an impressive World Cup campaign that saw him score twice in Morroco's round of 16 victory against co-hosts Canada.
He is said to be intent on departing for pastures new before the transfer window slams shut but neither Hull nor Ipswich are said to be in pole position to sign the 26-year-old.
While the Premier League and the Saudi Pro League may hold an edge when it comes to finances, Ounahi's preferred destination is said to be Ajax.
The Dutch giants had initially cooled on their interest with Girona said to be intent on securing significant compensation for the player they signed from Marseille last summer.
Ajax boss Michel worked extensively with Ounahi during his time in charge at the Estadi Montilivi, and the midfielder was one of the few players to impress in an otherwise dismal campaign that saw the City Football Group side relegated from the Spanish top flight.
He was left out of the squad for the club's LaLiga2 opener against Leganes on Sunday, with a move expected imminently.
