Red Bull Racing F1: Constructors Profile

All you need to know about the Red Bull Racing F1 team.

For the first time since the start of the 2021 season, Red Bull Racing enter the 2026 season without the reigning world champion behind the wheel of their car

2025 also saw Red Bull Racing fail to land the World Constructors’ Championship for the second season in a row after back-to-back successes in 2023 and 2024, although they can take some positives from a strong second half of the season, which saw Max Verstappen come close to overthrowing a huge points deficit to claim another title.

Owned by Red Bull GmbH and operating out of Milton Keynes in England, Red Bull Racing entered Formula 1 in the 2005 season after the conglomerate purchased Jaguar Racing, with Christian Horner taking charge as team principal and David Coulthard and Christian Klien making up their first driver partnership.

Their first season was a huge step up from the struggling Jaguar Racing as they came seventh in the constructors’ championship, but the real step up came in 2009 as Sebastian Vettel made the move to Red Bull, leading them to second in the standings.

2010 marked the beginning of an era of dominance in which Vettel and Mark Webber led the team to four successive World Drivers’ Championships and World Constructors’ Championships.

The team continued to be a top player amid the Mercedes dominance in the turbo-hybrid era, boasting a host of young talent such as Daniel Ricciardo, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly and, most notably, Verstappen, who finally brought the drivers’ championship back to Milton Keynes in 2021.

The Dutchman went on to land a further three World Drivers’ Championships, playing a starring role in back-to-back World Constructors’ Championship successes before finally relinquishing his crown to Lando Norris in 2025.

Current drivers

Star driver Verstappen returns to fight for the World Drivers’ Championship once again, with his contract running until the end of 2028, while last season’s impressive rookie Isack Hadjar earned promotion from sister team Racing Bulls, replacing Yuki Tsunoda in the second Red Bull Racing seat.

Max Verstappen

Verstappen won four successive World Drivers’ Championships between 2021 and 2024 and will be eager to add a fifth to his trophy cabinet in 2026.

The Flying Dutchman boasts a host of records, including the youngest ever Grand Prix winner, the most points won in a season and the most wins in a season.

The 28-year-old is thought to make around $70 million per year and is expected to add to his 71 Grand Prix wins this season.

Isack Hadjar

French-Algerian racer Isack Hadjar entered Formula 1 with Red Bull Racing’s sister team Racing Bulls in 2025 after coming second in the 2024 Formula 2 Championship, and his numerous impressive points finishes earned him promotion to the senior team.

He begins at Red Bull Racing with a one-year contract, earning an estimated $5 million per year.

Team Principal

Laurent Mekies

Laurent Mekies took over as Red Bull Racing’s team principal in July 2025, being promoted from sister team Racing Bulls.

The 48-year-old previously worked as a race engineer for Minardi, chief engineer for Toro Rosso, and sporting director of Ferrari before becoming Team Principal of Racing Bulls at the start of the 2024 season.

Red Bull Racing is named after the multinational conglomerate Red Bull GmbH, which created Red Bull energy drinks in the 1980s before diversifying into various other industries.

Sporting pursuits are a big part of the company, which includes soccer teams across the globe alongside Red Bull Racing, one of its most successful ventures.
