F1 began the 2026 season on March 8, 2026, and for the first time ever the field is contested by 22 racing drivers.

After winning the Spanish Grand Prix for his eighth victory of the season, 19-year-old Kimi Antonelli is the distant favorite to win the 2026 Drivers' Championship.
Antonelli is one of the few teenagers in a seat this season, and the prodigy took a huge step in his career in 2026, competing with F1's elite racers in the Mercedes. Antonelli currently leads the Drivers' standings with 292 points, 81 points above his teammate George Russell in second.
Russell was the favorite to take home his first Drivers' Championship before the season began, but has since taken a backseat to Antonelli. Russell finished fourth in the Drivers' Championship last season, but has fallen behind his young teammate due to poor performances early on in the season.
2025 Drivers' Championship winner Lando Norris has made a huge jump in the odds. The McLaren driver finished first in Hungary and the Netherlands, then fourth place in Italy before getting back on the Podium in Spain. Norris is currently fourth in the standings (186 points), but due to his strong performances, bet365 gives him the second best chance to win the Drivers' Championship.
Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton is fourth in the odds. Hamilton finished second in Canada and Monaco before winning his first Grand Prix since 2024 in Barcelona. he sits third in the drivers standings with 191 points.
Charles Leclerc stood on the podium in two of the first three races of 2026, but did not finish inside the top three for the next five races until he won at Silverstone in Great Britain. Leclerc then finished second to Antonelli in Belgium but has not landed on the podium since.
Four-time champion Max Verstappen has the sixth best odds to take home the title after he finished second behind Norris last season.
Norris and his Mclaren teammate Oscar Piastri were so dominant in the early part of last season and ran away from the rest of the field in the Constructors' Championship.
No other drivers are expected to compete with the top-seven cars.
