Brooklyn Nets Offseason Mock Trades

Possible trade ideas for the Brooklyn Nets that are all possible with the current NBA Salary cap rules.

The Brooklyn Nets hold the No. 6 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, and rumors are coming out that the team may want to trade the pick in order to get better in a hurry by adding a star player to pair with Michael Porter Jr.

Brooklyn has been bad for a number of years, and after selecting five players in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft, the team could look to skip this years draft by trading their pick for an established star who could help them win some games as soon as next season.

Nic Claxton is a name that is very likely to be traded this offseason due to his salary that is enough to get back a big name, but not big enough to scare a team away.

Check out four possible trades the Brooklyn Nets could make this offseason.

Brooklyn finds a star from Orlando

BKN Nets Receive:
Franz Wagner ($38,600,000)
2026 2nd Round Pick (#46)

ORL Magic Receive:
2026 1st Round Pick (#6)
Nic Claxton ($25,500,000)
Terance Mann ($15,500,000)

With the Orlando Magic continually flaming out in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the team could be inclined to get into the top-6 of this loaded draft class.

Orlando would get Claxton, an established center, and a young player (likely a guard) in the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft. Brooklyn would get a 6' 10" borderline All-star in exchange for the valuable draft pick.

Brooklyn bets on Giannis

BKN Nets Receive:
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($54,600,000)

ORL Magic Receive:
2026 1st Round Pick (#6)
2027 1st Round Pick (HOU Pick)
Nic Claxton ($25,500,000)
Terance Mann ($15,500,000)
Ziaire Williams ($6,250,000)

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the biggest name on the trade market this offseason, and with a name like that available, Brooklyn is is sure to at least make the call.

With Giannis' age and injury history, many teams are unlikely to send a big haul to Milwaukee. Brooklyn could trade the No. 6 pick and Houston's pick in the 2027 Draft, in addition to Claxton, Terance Mann, and Ziaire Williams to help kickstart the teams' rebuild.

The No. 6 pick might be enough to get the Milwaukee Bucks to really consider this deal.

Austin Reaves lands in Brooklyn from LA

BKN Nets Receive:
Austin Reaves ($14,900,000)
Dalton Knecht ($4,000,000)

LA Lakers Receive:
2026 1st Round Pick (#6)
2028 1st Round Pick (NYK Pick)
Terance Mann ($15,500,000)

The LA Lakers are beginning to finally put a roster together around Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves' $14.9 million contract could get a decent return.

Brooklyn has the cap space to pay Reaves the contract he deserves, and LA could use the No. 6 pick to find an ideal running mate next to Doncic for the coming years. They could also flip New York's 2027 1st Round Pick to find another role player to pair with the Slovenian star.

Reaves is the ideal scoring guard that can put up major numbers on the Nets.

Brooklyn adds more draft capital from Charlotte

BKN Nets Receive:
2026 1st Round Pick (#14)
2027 1st Round Pick (MIA Pick, Top-14 Protected)
Grant Williams ($13,600,000)
Josh Green ($13,600,000)

CHA Hornets Receive:
Nic Claxton ($25,500,000)

If the Nets instead decide to lean into an even deeper rebuild this coming season, the organization could send Claxton to the Charlotte Hornets who desperately need center depth.

Charlotte has two first round picks in 2026 (#14, #18), and they could be interested in moving one of those selections for a piece they know will be productive on the team.

Brooklyn would then have two selections in the 2026 NBA Draft (#6, #14) for an extra chance at a future star to build around long-term.
