The Washington Wizards won the NBA Draft Lottery and are now officially on the clock until June 23, with AJ Dybantsa potentially already looking at Zillow listings in D.C..

2026 NBA Draft Dates
The official dates for 2026 NBA Draft have been confirmed, with the First Round taking place on June 23 at 8:00 PM ET. The Second Round will begin on June 24th.
The NBA Draft Lottery was be held on May 10, 2026.
The NBA Draft Combine was held between May 10, and May 17, 2026.
Explaining the NBA Lottery
The NBA Draft Lottery determines the NBA Draft order for the fourteen teams that missed the playoffs the previous season.
All-fourteen teams that miss the playoffs have a chance to pick within the top-four, with the teams with the worst record having a higher chance to earn one of those top-four picks.
Each team is assigned a percentage chance to earn the No. 1 pick based on their record in the regular season. The worst teams (Team 1-3) all have the same chances to earn the No. 1 pick, and the team with the best record that missed the playoffs (Team 14) has the lowest odds to get the No. 1 Pick.
The draw determines the first four selections, then the lottery teams will select five through fourteen based on the teams with the worst records that did not receive one of the first four selections.
Picks 15-30, and 31-60 in the second round are determined by the regular season record. Each team receives one selection in the first and second round. Many teams have traded or will trade their picks in either round before or during the NBA Draft.
The new NBA Draft rules (beginning in 2019) ensures the the team with the worst record in the NBA regular season gets no lower than the fifth pick in the draft.
