Newmarket Racecourse is one of the most important and influential racing centres, not just within UK, but also globally.
Home to two tracks: the Rowley Mile and the July Course, Newmarket hosts two of the five British Classics in the 2,000 Guineas and 1,000 Guineas that take place over the first weekend of May each year.
Often referred to as the headquarters as British Flat racing, it is home to a collection of some of the finest trainers the country has to offer, as well important institutions including Tattersalls, the National Horse Racing Museum and the National Stud.
In total, Newmarket hosts nine of the UK's 38 annual Group 1 contests.
These are the 1,000 & 2,000 Guineas, Falmouth Stakes, July Cup, Fillies' Mile, Sun Chariot Stakes, Cheveley Park Stakes, Dewhurst Stakes and Middle Park Stakes.
