Wrexham have allowed one of their longest serving players to leave the club by mutual consent ahead of their second season in the Championship.
After three successive promotions, Phil Parkinson's side returned to the second tier for the first time in more than four decades last season, and narrowly missed out on a place in the play-offs.
With their 2026-27 season opener away at Cardiff City on 17 August fast approaching, preparations are well underway at the Racecourse Ground for the club's second season in the Championship.
However, one player that will player no further part for Wrexham is Irish defender Tom O'Connor, after he completed a permanent move to Peterborough United.
O'Connor still had twelve months remaining on the three-year contract extension he signed at Wrexham in the summer of 2024, but the club have agreed to release him to complete the move.
The defender spent part of last season on loan at London Road, making 19 appearances before returning to his parent club after suffering a serious injury.
But he is now here to stay in Cambridgeshire, signing a three-year deal.
Peterborough manager Luke Williams said: "Tom is an excellent player so we are really pleased to have him back with us.
"He is a strong character, it is brilliant news for us."
Former Republic of Ireland youth international O'Connor joined Wrexham in January 2022, less than a year after the club was taken over by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
The club earned promotion from the National League the following season, with O'Connor making 24 appearances and scoring 4 goals.
He remained a key fixture in the two subsequent promotion-winning campaigns as Wrexham became the first club ever to be promoted in three consecutive seasons in the top five tiers of English football.
