Wrexham defender Dan Scarr is a man in demand, according to exclusive reports from Football Insider.
Rumours regarding a potential departure seem to be heating up as the 31-year-old enters the final year of his contract at the Racecourse Ground.
With more than 230 EFL appearances to his name, the former Birmingham defender is vastly experienced and is reportedly the subject of interest from more than one Championship club, as well as sides in League One.
Scarr joined Wrexham in the summer of 2024 on a free transfer from Plymouth Argyle where he helped the club achieve promotion to the Championship, featuring 32 times in their title-winning 2022/23 campaign.
Soon after, he added a second promotion to his CV as the Red Dragons finished runner-up in third tier during Scarr's first season in North Wales.
All that experience could see Scarr on the move in the coming months with his contract situation currently unresolved.
"Wrexham centre-back Dan Scarr is wanted by multiple Championship clubs this summer," said Peter O'Rourke.
"The 31-year-old is about to enter the final year of his contract in North Wales, and a whole host of EFL clubs are chasing a move for him as a result.
"Scarr is attracting interest from second-tier clubs, as well as a whole host of top-end League One sides. A race looks set to develop for his signature in the coming weeks, with Wrexham running out of time to address his contract situation."
Back in April, Scarr expressed his frustration at a lack of game time under manager Phil Parkinson that saw him make just 15 league starts last season as Wrexham narrowly missed out on a playoff spot.
"It's Wrexham, we sign good players in the windows, so you know you're going to be up against it (to play), but that's what's got us where we are today," Scarr told reporters.
"I've had to bide my time to have a go."
One potential destination for Scarr could be a return to Home Park with former club Plymouth. Tom Cleverley's side might have been disappointed to finish eighth after returning to League One last season, however, they lost just once in their final 12 league matches, showing plenty of encouraging signs ahead of next season.
Plymouth are 9/2 to be promoted back to the Championship and, having been there and done it before, the acquisition of Scarr would look a shrewd one.
