Open Championship 2026 Betting Odds

Take a look at the latest odds for the 2026 Open Championship from Royal Birkdale.

World number one Scottie Scheffler is the favourite at The Open as he bids to defend the title he won so convincingly at Royal Portrush 12 months ago, but does so on the back of a relatively dry run and a missed cut at last week's Scottish Open.

Scheffler has now not won in 14 events, making it his longest winless run since 2023, when failing to win between the Players Championship and the Hero World Challenge.

But his inability to get over the line, combined with a failure to make the weekend at the Scottish Open casts doubt over Scheffler's chances this week, with the 30-year-old the biggest price he's been since the 2024 Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Odds will display when market is available.

Rory McIlroy appears to be his nearest challenger having taken a second Green Jacket in April with his game geared towards winning majors as he enters the third and final act of his illustrious career.

But Birkdale typically favours more accurate rather than longer golfers, and McIlroy will need to reign himself in if he's to contend on Merseyside having spent much of the last few years playing out of the long grass.

That said, McIlroy's driving was far from perfect in 2017 when recording a T4 finish at Birkdale, and the Northern Irishman holds fond memories in this part of the world, having won his Claret Jug at Royal Liverpool.

Matt Fitzpatrick and Tommy Fleetwood represent the strongest English challenge, with the latter recording three wins already this season, and the latter boasting an excellent record on links courses, returning to his native Merseyside.

Jon Rahm represents the best continental European challenger, with Ludvig Aberg and Viktor Hovland boasting claims, while the likes of Xander Schauffele, Chris Gotterup, Wyndham Clark and Cameron Young fly the flag for the United States.
