It is not uncommon for golfers to have a period of struggle after previous success and that is something Tom Kim has had to deal with.
The South Korean won three PGA Tour events in a 14-month period during 2022 and 2023, before dropping outside of the world’s top-80 players during 2025.
Kim though is too good not to be challenging for titles and proved that when winning the Genesis Scottish Open in July, in what has been a much-improved year.
The 24-year-old has seven top-20 finishes to his name this season and that includes a tied-fifth spot at last week’s Wyndham Championship.
Following his dip in form, Kim missed the PGA Tour play-offs last year, but did finish in the top 50 at the 2024 St. Jude Championship.
He finished one-under-par for the tournament, with an eye-catching second round of 66 the highlight of his week at TPC Southwind.
It is worth noting that Kim ranks 21st on Tour for total strokes gained and sixth in approach.

It has been a season to remember for Cameron Young, with two tournament wins propelling him to third in the FedEx Cup standings.
March’s victory at the Players Championship is the highlight to date for the man from New York, but topping this year’s money list would surpass that.
As well as his victories at Sawgrass and the Cadillac Championship, Young has two top-five finishes in the Majors to his name.
A T61 finish at the Wyndham Championship still saw him card two sub-70 rounds, while a T8 finish at the Rocket Classic the previous week highlighted his good form.
The 29-year-old was fifth in this tournament last year, five shots behind the winner, which included the lowest round of the final day - a six-under-par 64.
Young is currently ninth for total strokes gained and ranks inside the PGA Tour top 10 for total driving and scrambling.

It might look strange to be suggesting someone who has missed the cut in his last two events, but Akshay Bhatia’s formline is slightly deceiving.
The Californian, who won his third PGA Tour title back in March, missed the weekend at both the Open Championship and the Rocket Classic.
The left-hander did very little wrong in both tournaments, carding rounds of 71-73 at Royal Birkdale and 68-71 in Detroit.
Prior to that, Bhatia had claimed a top five at the Travelers Championship and a T17 spot at the US Open.
He also has an impressive record in this tournament, finishing T12 in 2024 before following that up with a T6 last year.
