Middlesbrough have beaten several clubs to the signing of a former Chelsea academy star, according to reports.
Myles Peart-Harris, who is available on a free transfer after leaving Oxford United upon the expiry on his contract, was the subject of interest from several EFL clubs including Queens Park Rangers and Leicester City.
But, according to journalist Peter O'Rourke, the 23-year-old will be playing his football at the Riverside next season after agreeing a four-year deal with the Teesside outfit.
Peart-Harris is a graduate of Chelsea's famous Cobham academy setup and was on their books for almost a decade before sealing a move to Brentford in 2021 after leaving his boyhood club.
The then 18-year-old signed a four-year contract with the Bees but only made nine appearances for the West London side, enjoying loan spells lower in the pyramid with Forest Green Rovers, Portsmouth and Swansea.
Peart-Harris made a permanent switch to Oxford in January of this year but found himself without a club after his contract expired at the end of the season.
"Understand Middlesbrough have agreed a deal to sign former Oxford winger Myles Peart-Harris on a free transfer," O'Rourke wrote on X.
"Boro have beaten off interest from a number of clubs for the former Brentford man. Peart-Harris is set to sign a four-year deal at the Riverside."
He started 18 Championship matches for the U's, scoring three goals and assisting one, but could not prevent his side from being relegated from the second tier. Despite this, it now looks as if he will remain in the Championship, hoping to play a part in Boro's bid to return to the Premier League.
After losing out to Hull City in the play-off final last season, Kim Hellberg's men are 10/3 to earn promotion.
