Inter Milan are advancing in negotiations over a £30million deal to sign Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, according to various reports.
Jones was linked with a move to the Italian champions during the January transfer window and Inter returned in June with a €25m (£21.4m) bid which Liverpool rejected.
The Reds were holding out for closer to €40m (£34.2m), but as Jones only has a year left on his contract at Anfield, Inter are set to wrap up a deal closer to €35m, which is an identical fee to what the Nerazzurri paid to acquire Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month.
It's expected Jones will undergo his medical with Inter in the coming days.
If completed, Jones will be one of three England internationals who featured in Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad to represent Inter in the 2026/27 season.
The aforementioned Spence was linked with a move to the Giuseppe Meazza throughout the summer and he signed a five-year deal with the Italian giants.
Former Manchester City defender John Stones was the first to join Cristian Chivu's men as he joined Inter following the expiration of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Jones has been on the books at Liverpool since 2010 and the midfielder signed his first professional contract with the club in 2018.
The boyhood Red has made 228 appearances for Liverpool, including 49 across all competitions last season. His versatility was greatly relied on by Andoni Iraola's predecessor Arne Slot, with Jones deputising at right-back following a multitude of injuries to defensive personnel.
Jones grew frustrated at not being able to nail down a regular starting berth in midfield and with negotiations stalling over a contract extension, the door has opened for him to depart Liverpool as the club look to cash in.
His pending departure raises questions about Liverpool's recruitment of a new central midfielder as they look to add depth behind Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch.
