West Ham United and Southampton are reportedly interested in securing the signing of Watford captain Imran Louza.
Reports from news outlet Africa Foot suggest that the two Championship clubs are pursuing a deal to sign the Moroccan midfielder before the transfer window shuts.
It is believed that Louza is open to leaving Vicarage Road this summer, with West Ham seemingly ahead of Southampton in the player's preference list.
However, there is also interest in the Hornets star from clubs throughout Europe as Louza considers his options.
The 27-year-old joined Watford from French side Nantes for a reported fee of €10 million in June 2021.
The club were relegated from the Premier League in his first season and, apart from a six-month loan spell at Lorient, he has represented the club in the Championship in each season since.
Last season saw Louza register 16 goal involvements for the club and his performances have clearly attracted plenty of admirers.
West Ham have already added former Celtic midfielder Arne Engels to their ranks but they could lose both Soungountou Magassa and Edson Alvarez in the coming days.
Promotion rivals Southampton are also not done when it comes to transfer business this month, however much of their activity could depend on the departures of existing players.
