We take a look at how the Scottish Premiership play-offs work.
In the existing Scottish football pyramid structure, a maximum of two teams can be relegated from the Scottish Premiership and a maximum of two teams can be promoted from the Scottish Championship.
The team which finishes bottom of the Scottish Premiership table in 12th are automatically relegated, while the team which finish top of the Scottish Championship are automatically promoted as champions.
In the Scottish Premiership, the team which finishes 11th in the table will be forced to compete in the two-legged Scottish Premiership play-off final.
Their opponents in the Scottish Premiership play-off final will be determined by the outcome in the previous play-off rounds.
The teams who finish in third and fourth in the Scottish Championship will compete in a two-legged Scottish Premiership play-off quarter-finals, with the victors taking on the second placed team in the semi-finals.
