The summer transfer window has come to a close, and while some clubs will be content with the squad at disposal for the 2026/27 campaign, others may be looking to exploit the free agent market.
The Premier League have smashed their transfer spending record, with an outlay on signings exceeding £3.4billion. It marks the fifth consecutive summer transfer window where spending surpassed £2billion in England's top-flight, with expenditure increasingly significantly since the 2022/23 window.
Spending in Europe's other leading divisions falls substantially lower, with the combined outlay of Serie A, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and La Liga (£3.05billion) teams still falling to amount to what the Premier League spent.
High cost doesn't always translate to elite quality however, and some clubs may be keen to add cheaper alternatives to the squad following the closure of the transfer window.
With that said, we take a look at the 20 most valuable free agents still on the market for clubs to sign.
