Daniel Dubois has vowed to produce a more "brutal" and "comprehensive" stoppage victory over British nemesis Fabio Wardley when the pair reacquaint themselves in the ring for a second time on Saturday night.
The Londoner inflicted a first career defeat upon Wardley five months ago, picking himself off the floor to stop the former white-collar operator with a barrage of heavy shots in the 11th round.
The victory marked a dream return to winning ways for Dubois after he fell short in his quest for undisputed glory 10 months earlier against the unbeaten pound-for-pound great Oleksandr Usyk.
The 29-year-old now heads into this weekend's hugely-anticipated rematch as a two-time blue-riband division ruler, with his sights set on unifying all of the marbles in the sport's marquee weight class.
Before he can even think of that though he needs to take care of business against an opponent who will be gunning for revenge inside London's O2 Arena.
Dubois is rightly considered favourite for the clash, but at 11/4, there will be plenty of fight fans who will feel the value undoubtedly sits in the powerful hands of Wardley.
Yes, Dubois -- once he had navigated himself through incredibly tricky waters early on last time -- finished by far the stronger of the two, but there's no doubt that Wardley possesses the tools to both hurt and dethrone the current champion.
He proved that last time around, almost finishing the job off inside the first round and then sending Dubois packing to the canvas for a second time in the third stanza.
Of course, we all know the trajectory of the fight thereonafter, but still, 1/4 favourite Dubois knows he simply can't afford to take anything for granted when the two face one another for a second time.
One slip-up, and his unification dreams could come tumbling down.
