Daniel Dubois promises brutal, quicker & more painful Fabio Wardley stoppage in upcoming heavyweight rematch

Daniel Dubois has quashed Fabio Wardley's claims that he will avenge his defeat against the current WBO ruler when the pair lock horns for a second time next month, promising to inflict an even more brutal, quicker and painful defeat upon the Ipswich star.

Dubois showed courage in abundance to peel himself off the canvas twice before producing a barnstorming stoppage to establish himself as a two-time blue-riband division ruler earlier this year in what transpired to be a fight of the year contender.

Even more fireworks are expected the second time around, with Dubois the overwhelming betting favourite as the pair prepare to trade leather once more.

The Queensberry man wasted no time in invoking his rematch clause on the back of his maiden professional loss back in May, although stablemate Dubois is adamant that it will be a decision the former white-collar operator comes to regret.

"I’ll finish it quicker this time," he emphatically predicted in a conversation with the Ring Magazine recently.

"I’m a better fighter, improved fighter. I’ll finish it quicker. I’m gonna school him again, that experience and amateur background that you can't buy, that's what I've got on my side.

Even without that, I've got his number. This time around, it’s going to be more clinical -- it's going to be brutal and painful!

Dubois admits he would have loved to have been preparing for a world championship unification bout against former foe, and current IBF titlist, Filip Hrgovic instead of undertaking a second domestic dust-up with Wardley.

The Briton left the giant Croatian bruised and bloodied following their first fight in Riyadh two years ago and the expectancy was that the two would run things back had Wardley opted against triggering his rematch clause.

However, that fight is one that the 29-year-old is hoping can come to fruition in the future, but first knows he has serious work to attend to at London's O2 Arena on October 17.

"I'd have liked the fight -- I want to win as many titles as possible; I want to fully unify the division," he added.

"I want to go out with a good legacy behind me saying I beat everyone. I beat them all. I’m going to reign as long as I can and do my thing.

"I'm sure it can happen, but right now I have Wardley in my sights.
