Celtic are reportedly eyeing a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek.
Transfer correspondent Pete O'Rourke took to X to break the news that that Celtic are 'interested' in signing the 22-year-old off the back of an impressive loan spell with Championship outfit Bristol City.
Vitek made the switch to Manchester United in 2020, joining from Czech outfit Sigma Olomouc for an undisclosed, nominal youth compensation fee.
The goalkeeper was highly thought of in the Red Devils academy setup and made over 50 combined appearances for the U18s and U21s, before getting his first taste for first team football when joining Accrington Stanley in January of 2024 until the end of the League Two season.
He conceded 30 goals in 18 fourth tier games as the Lancashire outfit comfortably survived the drop, before returning to Old Trafford and getting sent out on loan to top-flight Austrian outfit Blau-Weiß Linz.
It proved another valuable loan move for Vitek -- making 26 league appearances as his side clinched a top-half finish -- but there was an overarching sense that an EFL loan switch was needed after spending just half a season with Accrington Stanley
A sizable step up saw the Czech stopper join Bristol City on a season-long loan, where he would establish himself as one of the Championship's leading goalkeepers.
A series of Championship clubs are reportedly interested in securing Vitek's signature ahead of the 2026/27 term, but Celtic are the latest team to throw their hat in the ring.
The Hoops ended the 2025/26 season with Viljami Sinisalo in between the sticks after Kasper Schmeichel suffered a shoulder injury that has forced him into retirement, and so the club's need for reinforcement in the goalkeeper department has arguably never been more pressing.
It's yet to be seen as to whether Man Utd would sanction a permanent sale for Vitek, but the pending addition of Karl Darlow suggests that the Czech goalkeeper won't be staying put in Manchester.
