Bristol City are on the verge of securing their fifth summer transfer with Romanian international defender Lisav Eissat set to seal a €2.5 million move to Ashton Gate.
The Robins have been one of the most active clubs in the transfer market, sealing moves for Sam Greenwood, Jed Wallace, Gibson Yah and goalkeeper Sam Tickle.
However, their activity isn't stopping there with reports in Israel suggesting Eissat will undertake a medical with the Championship club in the coming days after an agreement was struck between Bristol City and Maccabi Haifa over the weekend.
The 21-year-old has earned admirers for his performances in the Israeli top-flight and on the international stage for Romania, with Bristol City having made a move to activate his reported €2.5 million release clause.
Eissa made 33 appearances for Maccabi last season, playing a key role in their fortunes on both the domestic and continental stage.
The powerful and imposing central defender earned international recognition for the first time last year, and has since established himself as a maintstay in the squad, earning his most recent cap in a 2-1 friendly success against Wales in June.
His potential arrival this week could be followed by a sixth summer addition in the shape of Leyton Orient striker Dom Ballard, who has already been the subject of two rejected bids from the Robins.
Head coach Michael Skubala saw the club's initial £2.5 million offer rebuffed last week, with EFL transfer guru Alan Nixon since stating that the Ashton Gate club had returned with an offer of over £3 million.
Whilst it seems that move was also dismissed, it appears the Championship are not giving up in their chase with Nixon reporting that a third bid, closer to the Londoners' £5 million valuation, was being prepared.
