The Athletics: Team Profile

The Athletics, formerly the Oakland Athletics, currently play their games at a temporary venue in Sacramento, CA, until they move to Las Vegas ahead of the 2028 season.

The A's were founded in 1901 as the Philadelphia Athletics where they won three World Series championships in their first 12 years of existence. They played in Philly until 1954 when they relocated to Kansas City for 12 years. The franchise settled down in Oakland, where they played from 1968-2024.
