Founded in 1896 as the Columbus Buckeyes, the Cleveland Guardians franchise were situated in Columbus from 1896-1899 before moving to Grand Rapids in 1899, and then finally settling in Cleveland in 1900.
The Guardians have two World Series titles (1920, 1948) and most recently made the World Series in 2016 where they held a 3-1 lead against Chicago Cubs before losing three in a row.
The Guardians are in the AL Central division, where they compete against the Kansas City Royals, Minnesota Twins, Chicago White Sox, and Detroit Tigers. They've dominated the AL Central for a decade, winning six division titles since 2016.
