The Los Angeles Dodgers are in an 0-2 hole in the NLCS and are in danger of missing out on the World Series for the first time since 2023.
The Milwaukee Brewers have used timely hitting and terrific pitching to go 5-1 in the playoffs so far, and they're just two wins away from making their first World Series appearance since 1982.
The Dodgers, meanwhile, have been carried by their pitching staff to reach this point. In the playoffs so far, their offense has averaged just 2.8 runs per game and were limited to one run in Game 1 of this series versus Milwaukee.
A big catalyst for the Dodgers' offensive struggle is Shohei Ohtani. The 4x MVP is slashing .150/.261/.150 for a .411 OPS in 24 plate appearances in the playoffs, without hitting a home run and providing nothing on the mound since July.
He's the most lost at the plate since he joined MLB, swinging at pitches nowhere near the zone and whiffing on balls in the zone. It's gotten so bad, in fact, that manager Dave Roberts has considered benching the $700 million man. However, he's in the lineup tonight and still has time to help lead the Dodgers to their third straight title.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET - Robert Gasser will take the mound for Milwaukee while Blake Snell is on the bump for LA. Take a look at Ohtani's player props, including his odds to hit a home run, below:
