In an 0-2 hole after losing the first two games of the series in Milwaukee, Blake Snell and the Los Angeles Dodgers need a win tonight.
While a loss tonight wouldn't end the Dodgers' season, going down 0-3 would effectively seal the deal. Only one team has come back from that dreaded series score: the Boston Red Sox in the 2004 ALCS versus the New York Yankees.
Snell, the Dodgers starter tonight and postseason hero last year, will look to grind through a lineup that works counts, gets on base, and runs the basepaths with the best of them. He only pitched 42.2 innings in the regular season as he nursed an injury, but he was still spectacular in that small sample: he had a 1.90 ERA and struck out 55 batters.
MLB's all-time leader in K/9 brings a high-90s fastball from the left side, along with a devastating curveball and changeup that allows him to strikeout both righties and lefties consistently. However, his career-long issues with command are still there. Snell pitched 3.2 innings against the Atlanta Braves in the ALDS, and while he struck out five and only gave up one run, he also walked five and ran his pitch count up to 90.
First pitch of Game 3 is at 8:00 PM ET in Los Angeles. Take a look at Snell's pitcher props for Game 3 below:
