Orioles vs. Cardinals: Prediction, Props, & Best Bets

Baltimore Orioles and St. Louis Cardinals are set for an interleague matchup on Wednesday night at Busch Stadium.

The Orioles took the first game of this series on Tuesday night with an emphatic 13-1 win and that victory moved Baltimore to 64-68 on the season, leaving them 2.5 games out of a wild card spot in the American League.

On the other side, the Cardinals are now one game under the .500-mark with a record of 66-67. St. Louis is a bit further adrift in the National League wild card hunt, as they enter this contest five games back of San Diego.

First pitch for Wednesday's matchup is slated for 7:45 p.m. ET.

Orioles vs. Cardinals betting picks and predictions

Cardinals ML (-105)

The Cardinals enter this matchup riding a four-game losing streak and are looking to shake off the first after getting blown out 13-1 last night. The good news is that they will hand the ball to Michael McGreevy.

The Cardinals tend to win when McGreevy takes the mound. St. Louis has won each of his last four starts and he owns a strong 3.38 ERA through 21.1 innings of work in that span.

McGreevy's opposition on the mound will be Baltimore's Kyle Bradish. The 29-year-old right-hander brings a 3.70 ERA into this matchup, which is the highest he's had since his rookie season back in 2022.

His K/BB ratio of 2.2 is also the worst of his career, which is a bit concerning.

Furthermore, Bradish sees his BAA jump from a solid .203 at home all the way up to .293 when pitching on the road. He finds himself on the road for this matchup and he may be in a tough spot.

This is a series that has been controlled by the Cardinals in recent seasons. St. Louis has won seven of its last 10 matchups against Baltimore and should be able to bounce back from last night's loss with a win in this one.

Under 8.5 (-125)

Both of these starting pitchers aren't posting other-worldly numbers, but they have been consistently solid. Bradish has allowed three earned runs or fewer in 20 of his 25 starts on the season and two earned runs or less in 15 of those outings.

Incidentally, McGreevy has also held his opponents to three earned runs or fewer in 20 of his 25 starts so far in 2026. He's held the opposition to two earned runs or less in 16 of those starts, which is one better than Bradish.

But still, it's clear that these pitchers are great at avoiding big innings and keeping the run-scoring to a minimum when on the road.

The Cardinals have struggled mightily to score runs at home this season. Specifically, St. Louis ranks 29th in total runs scored and 29th in team OPS when playing at home.

Going up against a steady force on the mound, the Cardinals may have some trouble stringing runs together in this one.

All in all, both starting pitchers have been solid and neither offense is overly threatening, so with a total of 8.5, the under is the play.
