Three teams in the Eastern Conference expected to win 50+ games this season, including the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and Philadelphia 76ers. The Knicks are the reigning NBA champions, Boston is a perennial contender, and Philadelphia loaded up by adding LeBron James and Jaylen Brown to an already star studded lineup.
The Indiana Pacers are expected to make the biggest leap of any team in the NBA. Indiana only won 19 games last season after reaching the NBA Finals the year prior. Superstar Tyrese Haliburton will be back on the court after missing all of last year to a torn Achilles suffered in those Finals.

The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs are both the clear favorites to top the Western Conference standing at the end of the regular season. Both teams won 60+ games last year, and their win total reflects that they are expected to do so again barring any major injuries to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or Victor Wembanyama.
The LA Clippers are the most obvious regression candidate this season after trading away the controversial Kawhi Leonard. The Clippers won 42 games last year, but their win total is set at just 28.5 wins.
The Thunder are favored the have the best record in the NBA this season for the third consecutive time. The Thunder tallied 68 wins in 2024-25, and 64 wins in 2025-26. This season, their win total is the highest in the league, set at 61.5.
