Spurs vs. Knicks NBA Finals Game 4: Prediction & Player Props

Despite being the youngest team in the NBA this season, the San Antonio Spurs continue to display their maturity this postseason.

They did so again on Monday, withstanding the New York Knicks’ latest comeback attempt to get their first win in the NBA Finals, 115-111.

The teams meet again on Wednesday night in Game 4 at Madison Square Garden at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Victor Wembanyama had 32 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and three blocks in another masterful performance on Monday night. Stephon Castle had 23 points, five rebounds, and five assists; Dylan Harper had 13 points despite shooting just five for 18, to go along with nine rebounds; and De’Aaron Fox added 12 points and eight assists.

Jalen Brunson equaled Wemby with 32 points and added five rebounds and five assists to pace the Knicks. OG Anunoby added 28 points, and Josh Hart contributed 16 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges were held relatively in check, combining for just 13 points, though Towns did grab eight boards as the Knicks held a 46-37 advantage on the glass.

The Knicks were unsuccessful in their bid to take a 3-0 series lead in the first Finals game played at the Garden in 27 years. However, they can still take a commanding 3-1 series lead with a win on Wednesday night.

Can they do it, or will the Spurs take another step forward in their bid to become the first franchise to win the NBA championship after losing the first two games of the Finals at home?

Spurs vs. Knicks betting picks and predictions

New York Knicks -1.5 (-110)

The road team and underdog have won each of the first three games in these Finals. San Antonio stemmed the tide last night. It handed the Knicks their first loss in 14 games. Their first loss in 46 days. Their first loss since the first round. And just their second defeat in eight games at the Garden this postseason.

More importantly, they didn’t wilt at the end, as they had done in Game 2. The popular phrase going around the city, “Knicks in 4,” will be no more.

But make no mistake, the Knicks aren’t going anywhere.

The Spurs had a perfect start, leading New York by 11 after one quarter, but New York immediately responded with a 42-24 haymaker in the second quarter to take the lead. The Knicks simply ran out of time at the end. They will be ready to go on Wednesday.

That includes Towns and Bridges. If they simply double their offensive production last night, this is a 3-0 series. And New York did not relinquish their control of the boards either. The Spurs have a 7-foot-4 unicorn in their starting lineup, and the Knicks outrebounded them by nine.

This series is starting to feel like a classic, and it certainly could go the distance, but the Spurs will have to dig out of a hole to do so. Take the Knicks to win and cover the 1.5-point spread as favorites.

Over 215.5 points (-110)

The Knicks won the first two games in San Antonio as the teams played to the Under. The Spurs got one back on Monday, and the teams surpassed the Over by double digits. San Antonio will continue pushing the tempo with its young guards, and the Knicks are fine with that. Take the Over again in the Garden.
