Kimi Antonelli is off to a flying start in 2026, and is on pace to become the youngest Champion in F1 history.
Mercedes' young star Kimi Antonelli leads the drivers' standings through six races in 2026 after finishing second in the Australian grand prix, then winning in China, Japan, Miami and Canada.
With 156 points, Antonelli leads his teammate George Russell (88 points), after the Brit was expected to be Mercedes' top driver in 2026. At just 19-years-old, the Italian driver is way ahead of where he was expected to be at the start of the season.
After winning the Japanese Grand Prix, Antonelli became the youngest driver to ever lead the driver's standings at 19 years, 7 months, and 4 days old. He took the record from Lewis Hamilton who first led the standings in 2007 at 22 years, 4 months, and 6 days old.
If he can maintain this pace, Antonelli would become the youngest driver to ever win the F1 Drivers' Championship. Antonelli will have turned 20-years-old by the end of the season, but he would still become the youngest driver to win the championship by nearly three years.
Sebastien Vettel currently holds the record for the youngest champion in Formula 1 history, winning the championship in 2010 at 23 years, four months, and 11 days old.

Only four drivers had won 10+ races in a season, and they are four of the greatest to ever compete in the sport.
Michael Schumacher (2004) and Sebastien Vettel (2013) hold the record for the most victories in a season with 13. Both drivers also reached 10+ victories in one other season.
Lewis Hamilton won 10+ races in six of seven seasons between 2014-2020, and his six seasons with 10+ victories is the most by any driver in F1 history.
Max Verstappen is the fourth driver to win 10+ grand prix in a season, with 10 victories in 2021 and 2022. Every time these four drivers won 10+ races they went on to win the drivers championship, except for Hamilton in 2016 when he lost out to his Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg by five points.
Antonelli is -1600 to become the fifth driver in F1 history to reach 10+ wins, and if he does so he's likely to become the youngest driver to ever win the Drivers' Championship.
