Jeremiah Smith looks to go 3-0 against Texas in his Buckeyes career, but tomorrow's game might be the toughest test yet: at the raucous environment of Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin.

While the Buckeyes have won their two previous games against Texas in the Smith era, the Longhorns have actually done a nice job containing #4. In the playoff game in January of 2025, Smith caught just one reception for three yards and didn't score - his least productive game in his Buckeyes' career. Ohio State got him more involved in the opening game of the 2025 season in August, targeting him 10 times. Still, he only finished with 43 yards on six receptions and, once again, didn't score.

Those two performances, however, came against defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski - who was fired in December. Replacing him is Will Muschamp - the Longhorns' DC from 2008-2010 who hasn't been a full-time defensive coordinator since 2015 at Auburn.

It'll be interesting to see how Muschamp's coverages differ from Kwiatkowski's, specifically against Smith.

There's no doubt that Ohio State is going to look towards Jeremiah's way early and often. This Texas secondary can be taken advantage of, which was already highlighted by the 138 passing yards they allowed in the first half to Texas State last week.
