Auston Simmons travels back to Oxford, Mississippi this weekend to face his former team in highly anticipated SEC matchup.
Auston Simmons started the first two games of the 2025 season as the quarterback of the Ole Miss Rebels, but after suffering an ill-timed injury, Trinidad Chambliss stepped in and led the team to the College Football Playoff Semifinals. The two former teammates will now line up on opposite sidelines this weekend after Simmons transferred to Missouri.

Ole Miss | -5.5 -109 | U 58.5 -109 | -220 |
The two former teammates have both been outstanding to start the season, and each player has led his respective team to a top-15 ranking in the latest AP Poll.
Simmons has led Missouri to a 5-1 record through six games, passing for 1,434 yards, 14 touchdowns, and only one interception. Simmons' job has been made easier thanks to some hard running from Jamal Roberts, who has rushed for 828 yards and eight touchdowns on 147 carries.
Chambliss has passed for one more yard (1,435 passing yards) in one fewer game than Simmons this season. He has passed for 11 touchdowns and four interceptions while leading Ole Miss to a 4-1 record, including two wins against ranked opponents. Chambliss has been peppering his top wide receiver, Deuce Alexander, who has 32 catches for 503 yards and five touchdowns this season.
The Ole Miss quarterback has needed to rely on his top target due to injury concerns surrounding the team's star running back, Kewan Lacy. Lacy hurt his shoulder in the third quarter of Ole Miss' emotional win over LSU earlier this year, and missed the loss to Florida the following week. Lacy returned last week against Vanderbilt and found the end zone despite having a limited role in the blowout victory.
A victory will be crucial for both programs this weekend to bolster their chances of making the College Football Playoff and to avoid losing a second game early in the season.
Ole Miss will host Missouri at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi on Saturday afternoon.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM Eastern Time (2:30 PM Central).
