Smith's sheer size at the wide receiver position stands out right away. His 6-3, 223 lb frame at 19 years old replicates Julio Jones' build in his prime.
Like Jones, Smith's hands are terrific - the Buckeyes' freshman dropped one pass last season on his first career target. He had several one-handed catches that made jaws drop throughout the season.
To go along with his size and hands, Smith has the speed to burn corners over the top. His championship-clinching 56-yard catch in the final minutes versus Notre Dame was a one-on-one in which Smith blew right by highly-touted corner Christian Gray.
His contested catch ability is also supreme, leaping over defenders to make diving catches while maintaining terrific body control to stay in-bounds like he did in the Rose Bowl.
His route-running and after-the-catch ability is Julio-esque as well. Despite his size, he moves smoothly enough to make sharp cuts at the top of his routes, and uses his speed and strength to run by or through defenders with the ball in his hands.
Smith has a chance to be the top pick in the 2027 NFL draft.
