After a full regular season and a gauntlet run though the 64-team NCAA tournament, two college baseball teams remain alive in Omaha - North Carolina and Oklahoma.
Tonight, it's a winner-take-all Game 3 of the Men's College World Series Finals where all the eyes of the college baseball world will watch to find out which team claims its first national title in more than 30 years.
Oklahoma last won it all in 1994 while UNC has never won it. The Tar Heels have been a staple at the tournament, however, and finished as runners-up in 2006 and 2007.
The Sooners took the first game of the best-of-three championship series with a dominating 9-3 win. Catcher Deiten Lachance slammed two homers to help knock Tar Heels' ace Jason DeCaro out of the game before the fourth inning, while the Sooners bullpen shutdown the Carolina offense late in the game.
The second game was wildly different: After the Sooners went ahead by two early, the UNC offense responded in a big way with three runs in the third inning and never looked back. Freshman Caden Glauber pitched five masterful shutout innings to close the game, giving up just one hit and striking out eight batters.
In Glauber's 29 appearances for the Heels this year, the team's record is 29-0.
His performance sets up an epic Game 3 clash tonight. Both teams expect to start freshmen on the mound: Nick Wesloski for the Sooners and Jackson Rose for North Carolina. Wesloski comes in with a 3.63 ERA and allowed three runs in 5.2 innings pitched in his last start against Georgia. Rose owns a 2.15 ERA and allowed no runs in 4.1 innings to West Virginia his last time out.
Here's everything you need to know about how you can watch the game, along with the odds for each team to win.
As with all Men's College World Series games, the championship will be played at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM CT / 4:00 PM PT.
