Guardians vs. Angels: Prediction, Props & Best Bets

Cleveland Guardians and Los Angeles Angels wrap up a three-game series when they meet one more time in L.A. on Wednesday afternoon.

Cleveland is going for the sweep after prevailing 4-2 in the opener and 8-6 in 10 innings on Tuesday night.

With Wednesday's contest set for 4:07 pm ET, it’s time to break down the matchup and discuss the best bets to make.

Guardians vs. Angels betting picks and predictions

Guardians ML (-140)

The Guardians could not have more momentum heading into this contest. Not only have they won six games in a row, but they also came back from a 5-0 deficit to get the job done on Tuesday.

It has been a much different story for the Angels, who have been in woeful form, as they have been for most of this season. They are on a three-game losing streak and have not won back-to-back games since August 11-13.

Joey Cantillo is taking the mound for Cleveland in this one. He is 9-7 with a 3.73 ERA and 144 strikeouts through 130.1 innings of work so far this year.

In his last two outings, the southpaw has given up only two runs on five hits across 10.2 innings. The Guardians won those two games 6-1 over San Diego and 9-1 over Colorado.

Cantillo's only previous matchup with the Angels this season came on May 11, when he hurled 6.0 innings of shutout baseball, while recording the win in a 7-2 Cleveland victory.

The Guardians are actually better on the road (36-32) than they are at home (31-34), so the visitors should be in good shape yet again on Wednesday and finish off the sweep in style.

Over 9 runs (-105)

Both bullpens are absolutely cooked through two games of this series. In the opener, Cleveland used three of its high-leverage relievers for one inning apiece.

The visitors then relied on six bullpen arms for a whopping 8.2 innings on Tuesday. Los Angeles has used eight relievers for a combined 10.0 innings through two games.

The Angels may have to turn to their bullpen early and often again on Wednesday, because starting pitcher Grayson Rodriguez does not inspire any confidence. The right-hander is saddled with a disastrous 6.41 ERA and 1.53 WHIP.

Rodriguez has been especially hopeless at home, compiling a ridiculous 8.82 ERA in front of the home fans. Cleveland's current roster is 7-for-23 (.304) lifetime against Rodriguez with just one strikeout.

All things considered, the over looks like the play to make.

Jo Adell over 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs (-130)

Adell went 0-for-5 on Tuesday, but he has not gone hitless in back-to-back games since August 13-14.

Cleveland's right fielder has still hit safely in four of his last five contests, including three multi-hit performances during this stretch. Adell has also driven in an incredible 13 runs in the last seven games.

The 27-year-old should have a favorable matchup on his hands with Rodriguez toeing the rubber for L.A. Adell is 2-for-2 lifetime against Rodriguez with a double and an RBI.
