The Dallas Wings compete in the WNBA's Western Conference and was announced as a franchise in 2016.
The Dallas Wings franchise started as the Detroit Shock in 1998, then moved to Oklahoma and became the Tulsa Shock in 2010.
The Wings play at the College Park Center located in Arlington, Texas. They are expected to move to the downtown Dallas for the 2027 season, with plans to play at the American Airlines Center while construction finishes on their long-term home at the Dallas Memorial Auditorium.

Jose Fernandez is the head coach of the Dallas Wings, he previously served as the head coach of the South Florida Bulls women's basketball team from 2000 to 2025.

The Dallas Wings have not won or reached a WNBA Final since relocating to Dallas in 2016, but the franchise itself has won three titles as the Detroit Shock (2003, 2006, 2008). Head coach Bill Laimbeer led the team to their three championship titles and made four WNBA Finals appearances during his time with the Shock.
