Maxime Crepeau and Dayne St. Clair headline an experience goaltending group for Canada at the 2026 World Cup. They're in a competition against each other for the starting spot.
Crepeau missed the 2022 World Cup due to a broken leg, but he was Canada's primary starter during their strong 2024 Copa America run. He's highly valued within Canada's organization and should be a key factor in a potential run.
St. Clair is a standout in MLS - he's one of the best goalies in the league, winning Goalkeeper of the Year with Minnesota last year. He joined defending champion Inter Miami in the offseason.
Headlined by captain Alphonso Davies, Canada's defender group has a blend of veterans, European-based talent, and emerging young players.
Key guys other than Davies include Alistair Johnston, Moise Bombito, and Derek Cornelius.
Johnston is an experienced and physical right-back, Bombito has burst onto the scene as a breakout star with speed, and Cornelius is another strong presence in the middle of their defense.
European pedigree Ismael Kone and Stephen Eustaquio headline a midfielder group that has plenty of World Cup experience from 2022.
Eustaquio is usually the captain of the team when Davies is absent, and he's the primary engine and leader in the center of the field.
Jonathan Osorio, Mathieu Choiniere, and Nathan Saliba are other midfielders to keep an eye on.
All-time leading scorer Jonathan David and veteran Cyle Larin are the leading attackers for Canada, which also includes young breakout candidates in Tani Oluwaseyi and Promise David.
Jonathan David has scored nearly 40 goals for his country and will most likely be the leading shot taker for Canada at the World Cup.
