Burnley F.C.

Founded in 1882, Burnley Football Club were one of the founding members of the Football League. Nicknamed 'The Clarets', they have spent sporadic periods in the top flight, most notably winning the First Division title in 1960. They also reached the FA Cup final in 1947 and 1962.

Burnley plays its home fixtures at Turf Moor, one of the oldest football grounds in England. While the club has not won a major trophy in their recent history, their promotions to the Premier League have been significant achievements for the football club, consistently punching above their weight.

Key players from Burnley's history include Jimmy McIlroy, James Tarkowski and Nick Pope, who helped to establish Burnley as a top level Championship or low level Premier League side.
