Craig Bellamy has revealed that he rejected the chance to become Burnley manager over the summer.
It was widely reported that the Clarets were attempting to convince Bellamy to leave his position as Wales boss in favour of the Turf Moor top job, however, the 47-year-old has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to take charge of the Lancashire club.
Bellamy had previously been tight-lipped on the rumours linking him with a switch to Burnley and insists that he is "transparent" and "has nothing to explain".
Quizzed by the media regarding the discussions with Burnley, Bellamy said: "It's really nothing to explain, I am always in conversation with a club I worked with. I worked two years with them, I have a good relationship with them.
"For them to progress conversation and speak to me even further, they had to do what Wales had done with them. When Wales wanted to speak to me when I was working with Burnley, they had to get permission, and then we have a conversation. Burnley got into a conversation with Wales, because you have to do it right.
He did go onto explain that he understands why some Wales fans would be frustrated because of the "narrative being pushed" but said that he was comfortable with the way that he handled the situation.
"There's only one person I have to prove [something] to, and that's to yourself, your morals, what you live by. I've never moved for money, I've never done anything for money and I ain't going to change now," he said. "I'm comfortable with me, I'm comfortable with the decision I've made and I have always been committed in everything I do, that hasn't changed.
"Winning people over? I don't know, that's the honest truth. The simple part of it is I'm comfortable in me and the biggest person I have something to prove to and win over is always me, and that never changes."
The former Liverpool winger was speaking to the media after announcing his 28-man squad for the upcoming international break where Wales will face four matches, two against Denmark and one against each of Portugal and Norway.
Bellamy will be without key defender Joe Rodon for matches against both Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Leeds centre-back sidelined due to injury.
