Wrexham are looking to upset the apple cart this summer as they eye a potential signing from their Welsh rivals.
The Dragons enjoyed a successful debut campaign in the Championship this year, defying the odds to finish agonisingly close to the play-offs and missing out by just two points in the final standings.
Ahead of another season in the second tier, Phil Parkinson and Wrexham's Hollywood backers will be aiming to further strengthen a side that has seen significant investment in recent seasons.
One such move could be a controversial signing from one of Wrexham's Welsh rivals.
Wrexham are reportedly eyeing a move for Swansea and Northern Ireland midfielder Ethan Galbraith this summer, with the Dragons hoping to poach the 25-year-old following an impressive debut season in the second tier, according to WalesOnline.
Galbraith has two years remaining on his deal at Swansea, who opened negotiations to extend his contract but saw an initial offer rejected by Galbraith's representatives.
That news has alerted the attentions of Wrexham, with the Dragons hoping the significant finances wielded by the club could be enough to tempt the Northern Irishman to make the move from South Wales to the North.
The former Manchester United graduate is unlikely to come cheap however; he was signed for £1.5 million last summer from Leyton Orient and the Swans have the option to extend his deal by another 12 months, further strengthening their bargaining position.
Galbraith made 39 appearances in the Championship for the Swans last season, netting three goals and laying on one assist during the campaign.
