Wolves press ahead with left-back plans as David Moller Wolfe departs

Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to make a last-ditch swoop for a new left-back with David Moller Wolfe heading through the exit door at Molineux.

The Norway international is on the verge of joining Bundesliga side Hamburger SV on loan with an option to buy.

There is also speculation concerning another Wolves left-back in Hugo Bueno, who according to Marca is the subject of interest from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

The current situation means a new left-back is essential for César Peixoto's squad and the club are working on a deal to fill the void left by Wolfe's departure.

According to Wolves insider Liam Keen, the Midlands outfit are advancing on a deal to sign a replacement for Wolfe. The club have been linked to Manchester United's out of favour left-back Harry Amass and Gil Vicente defender Marvin Elimbi, who worked under Peixoto in Portugal.

Championship

Wolfe joined Wolves from Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2025 for a fee believed to be in the region of £10million.

The 24-year-old made 29 appearances for the club in their disastrous relegation campaign before he was selected by Ståle Solbakken to feature in Norway's 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Wolfe will be the fourth player from an English club to arrive at the Volksparkstadion this summer with Fabio Vieira joining from Arsenal, Patson Daka arriving on a free from Leicester City and Sebastian Bornauw on loan from Leeds United.

Wolves were linked with the signing of full-back Brayann Pereira from Dutch club NEC Nijmegen, but that deal looks set to be hijacked by Black Country rivals West Brom.

Amass is rumoured to be a top target for Wolves and the 19-year-old is wanted by a number of Championship clubs. The left-back, who was on loan at Sheffield Wednesday last season, has a valuation of £6m.
