Nuno Espirito Santo and John Mousinho have named their teams ahead of the first round EFL Cup clash between West Ham United and Portsmouth at the London Stadium.
The two Championship sides will be aiming to make a winning start to their respective seasons with the EFL Cup kicking off the domestic action in the 2026/27 campaign.
West Ham especially will be eager to make a strong start following their relegation from the Premier League last season. This is the first time the Irons have featured in the first round of the EFL Cup since 2011/12, when they were last competing in the second tier.
Portsmouth have not advanced beyond the first round of the EFL Cup since 2023/24.
Mousinho's Pompey were battling relegation for the majority of the previous campaign, but a strong end to the season - which included four wins from their final six - saw them pull eight points clear of the bottom three.
