Andrey Rublev has been a regular in reaching Grand Slam quarter-finals and the world number 13 will be looking to put that experience to good use against Jakub Mensik, who is bidding to make the last eight of a Major for the first time at the French Open.
Rublev has made 10 Grand Slam quarter-finals during his career, which includes at the French Open in 2020 and 2022, and the early exits of Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic will have only raised his hopes of challenging for the title.
Rublev has lost both previous meetings with Mensik but they have come on a hard court in less esteemed events and he may feel that he holds the aces in a Grand Slam on slower terrain.
Mensik upset world number seven Alex De Minaur in the third round, overcoming a slow start which saw him lose the opening set 6-0, but a tough test awaits against Rublev.

Best Bet: Andrey Rublev to win @ 4/5
With a Grand Slam quarter-final spot at stake, Rublev will be able to call upon all his past experiences in Major competition and should overturn his recent form with Mensik.
Rublev knows exactly what it takes to make the last eight of a Grand Slam, having done so on 10 occasions, whereas Mensik is bidding to do so for the first time in his fledgling career.
Rublev has defeated Hamburg champion Ignacio Buse, Marrakech semi-finalist Camilo Ugo Carabelli and the reliable Nuno Borges in Paris, all of whom are consistent clay-court performers.
Mensik needed a deciding set to see off Geneva runner-up Mariano Navone in round two, a contest that lasted four hours and 41 minutes, and his third-round victory over De Minaur wasn't the biggest shock given that the Australian prefers much quicker conditions.
However, there is not enough in Mensik’s clay-court form to suggest he can raise his game to upset Rublev, who has won 10 of his last 13 matches which includes finishing runner-up in Barcelona and being a quarter-finalist in Rome.
Alternative Bet: Andrey Rublev to win 3-1 @ 7/2
Rublev eased to a straight-sets victory over Borges in the last round but he may be made to work harder by Mensik, who at 20 years of age remains open to plenty of progress.
Rublev’s opening two wins over Buse and Ugo Carabelli finished 3-1 and a repeat may be on the cards against the Czech player, who has failed to win a set only once in his last 16 matches.

Over 39.5 games
Pays 11/2
There is every opportunity for this clash to feature four or five sets, so there should be plenty of games, but that doesn’t mean there will be a tiebreak.
Breaks of serve are more common clay and only one of the 12 sets that Mensik has contested at this season’s French Open has gone to a tiebreak.
The two meetings between this pair have seen ace totals of 17 and 25 and, while that is harder to replicate on a slower surface, Rublev’s recent 7-5 7-6 7-6 victory over Borges featured 18 aces.
