Portugal travel to Denmark without all-time leading goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 41-year-old announced late on Wednesday night that he would be leaving national team camp following reports that he had held "crisis talks" with boss Jorge Jesus in the aftermath of Portugal's 2-1 win over Norway.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner says that he will reveal the "real reasons" for his departure in due course.
Ronaldo was forced to watch on from the bench as his replacement Goncalo Ramos struck the winner in a hard fought victory in Oslo last time out.
It was a second win in as many games for Lusos after they defeated Wales 1-0 in the opening game of the extended international break.
Ronaldo's lack of involvement signals that Jesus is keen to to things a little differently with Portugal than his predecessors in the dugout.
Vitinha was also on the bench during the Norway win, however he is expected to return to the starting XI on Thursday night. Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes is also in contention to start after missing that game with injury, but isn't guaranteed a spot.
Rafael Leao could replace Francisco Conceição out on the left, while Pedro Neto should retain his spot on the opposite flank.
The defence and goalkeeper has been fairly consistent and the same four of Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Renato Veiga and Nuno Mendes are expected to roll out in Copenhagen.
Joao Felix has been by far Portugal's most impressive player across their two matches and will start, most likely in support of Milan striker Ramos.
Predicted Portugal XI
Diogo Costa; Joao Cancelo, Renato Veiga, Ruben Dias, Nuno Mendes; Vitinha, Joao Neves; Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, Rafael Leao; Goncalo Ramos
